Outasight - LimitationsThe Outasight is can be used with most straight baths and is designed for domestic use. Althought they are of a robust construction, we do not recommend the Outasight for use in commercial properties - the large amount of leverage available on the pivoting arm can lead to the unit being damaged if it is misused. It is also suitable for use with baths that have centre tap locations, in which case you would have to choose which end to fit the Outasight. The majority of baths have taps at one end (below, left) but the Outasight can also be installed on baths with centre tap locations (below, right).
The Outasight is suitable for use with power showers, providing the spray head is installed to point down the bath (below, left) , not across it (below, right). All overbath shower curtains and bath shower screens have their limitations with this type of shower due to the force of water that they produce - ideally a power shower should be used in a shower cubicle
There are some baths that are not ideal for use with the Outasight due to raised moulding on the bath - such as the Carron Shell bath (shown below) which has raised soap dishes moulded into the bath design.
The only way of fitting the unit to this bath is to raise the box up above the moulding but doing this prevents the curtain from forming an effective seal, so it is far from ideal. The current model of the Outasight is designed to be used on a straight bath but it is possible to fit one over a corner bath. The resulting shower area available using an Outasight is still quite large but would be smaller than that offered by a shower curtain or bath shower screen. The overall suitability of this type of installation will depend on the size and shape of the bath in question - offset corner baths work better than standard corner baths.
